Our group stayed and hunted for 3 days at the Oak Creek Lodge. Marshall, Austin, and Hannah treated us like royalty. Everything we could need was provided. The house was a cozy remodeled farm house that was neat and clean with many interesting mementos. The Oak Creek crew went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The meals were great and more food than I could eat.
The pheasant hunting was vey good. Always birds to be found on the property. Austin and Marshall were there to provide water, take the birds, or provide a ride when needed. All types of terrain and places to hunt. Lots of shooting opportunities every day. Birds were cleaned and ready to go when we left.
It was a great experience and would recommend for a family or business relaxing South Dakota pheasant hunt.

I had the opportunity to visit Oak Creek Lodge with three close friends in mid-November 2021. Having never hunted in South Dakota, I was not quite sure what to expect as my pheasant hunting was limited only to Minnesota. I cannot say enough about how fantastic this entire experience was. From our initial arrival, to departing home for the return trip Marshall and Austin were tremendous hosts. The hunting was phenomenal! Marshall and Austin provided just enough insight and guidance into where we should hunt while still allowing us to work the area on our own. The birds provided plenty of action and kept our dogs hard at work. After spending the day afield, we returned to the house and had an amazing home cooked meal and plenty of time to socialize and reminisce our days experience. Our group is eager to plan our return trip for 2022.

I was fortunate to join good friends for a two-day hunt with Oak Creek Lodge in mid-November. The hunting was superb and the hospitality was unbeatable. Marshall and Austin guided us across the immense property for two days. One couldn’t ask for better terrain to work the dogs and chase the birds. Only my skills prevented me from putting more birds in the vest. The accommodations were clean and comfortable and the meals were delicious (thank you Hannah!). I was shopping around for some famous SD pheasant hunting when I called Oak Creek. I've stayed in several lodges and when Marshall Bowen answered the phone I could tell this place was different and booked a 2 day. This lodge operates as a preserve and like most bird hunters I was worried about released birds vs wild. You could not tell the difference, the birds flushed hard and made for a great hunt. There is no lack of terrain from fields, creeks, hills and tree lines it's all there. Birds are cleaned, vacuum sealed and frozen for you! Accommodations exceeded my expectations and meals were great especially dinner. They arrive in the evening and take over the kitchen making a home cooked meal which you actually select in advance from a menu. Very organized and professional and priced right. These folks have taken it to the next level, highly recommend!

If you're looking for a hunting experience with genuine staff, look no further. I felt like I was with family at Oak Creek. The lodging felt just like Grandpas farm. Plenty of room and very comfortable amenities. The owners are down to earth and you can tell they take pride in making the experience A+. There was no shortage of birds. I had plenty to shoot at and the dynamic terrain made it even more of an experience. Oak Creek Lodge did not disappoint. I cannot wait till next season. Thanks guys!

You are treated like family here. From the second you arrive and throughout your entire stay you feel like you are home away from home. The staff there are all very knowledgeable and will guarantee you get to experience exactly what you came there to do. 5 stars to Marshall and the crew for a life changing experience. Hunting was great even with the wind we had this year.
The hosts put us on birds every day.
Nice mix of wild birds and plenty to limit out.
The partridge or grouse is a great bonus in these parts as well
Nice beds , warm house , great water , kitchen w all guys need.
Another nice part about Oak Creek Lodge is, some excellent hunting and cover begins within 100 yards of the farm. There is no need to pile in vehicles to get to the hunting. Each morning can begin at the farm make it back for lunch and break then a short drive ( no more than 5 minutes ) to another cover area.

I've just returned from the hunt of a lifetime! The birds were plentiful and we limited out every day. Loved the fact that they had kennels for my dogs. Lodging is top notch and I was always full and comfortable. If you're a hunter, this is your spot!

If you're looking for the traditional Pheasant Hunt, this is probably not the place for you but....if you're looking for an adventure, this hunt needs to be booked. You will be hunting with the Bowen boys (Marshall and Austin) on the old family homestead using Grandma's old farmhouse and a couple converted old barns for accommodations. You will be hunting up and down draws and river bottoms that can be a little challenging. Be in shape!!!! But for me the best part was hunting the lands that Sitting Bull and his ancestors hunted!!! Quite a thrill for me and we all filled our limits!!

If you're looking for a small group setting with the ruralness of the prairies, Oak Creek Lodge is the place. A great venue to get away and set your boots on some of the prettiest grounds with the Oak Creek running through the middle! Great bird numbers and great people in the Bowens!

Oak creek has the nicest accommodations and friendliest staff in the area. It is comfortable for groups of hunters big an small he has room for you all and the location is a one of the best in the area. Highly recommended if you are considering hunting on the standing rock reservation.

This place is great! The farmhouse and additional lodging on site accommodates our large group well. We have been hunting the area for several years and were fortunate enough to find Oak Creek Lodge a couple of years ago. We have stayed at 3-4 other places in the area but none compare. We are mainly deer hunters and the lodge is centrally located within the areas we hunt on the reservation. I have noticed great numbers of pheasant on the property and the surrounding areas. Austin has always been helpful and easy to communicate with. We look forward to our yearly hunting trip and seeing the Bowens. Thanks Austin.
